Ordinary Texture

普通 紋理

Texture: Noun (plural textures)The feel or shape of a surface or substance; the smoothness, roughness, softness, etc. of something.

Ordinary: Adjective (more ordinary, superlative most ordinary) Having no special characteristics or function; everyday, common, mundane

These 8 common images are around us all the time, however we are usually so enveloped in our routine that we fail to see them.

Caught up in our own thoughts and blinded by the tediousness of life, the world around us flashes by and we don’t allow its exquisite simplicity to seduce us. Lost in habit, we don’t stop, even to feel the incomprehensible delight of raindrops on the skin, that may one day become our tears, or the water brewed for our lattes. Our lives are instead spent numb, searching for what does not exist, for perfection and permanence.

These images alone have no inherent meaning. Rather, they should serve as a reminder for us to look at the world around us and to connect with everything that comes our way.

I do hope you will take a deep breath and savor the delicious textures of our world both as you look at these images and as you look at the world.
